How do I use it?*
To get the maximum benefit of coconut oil one must consume three tablespoons a day. This can be spooned, or melted in a warm drink like herbal tea. It can also be put on food like in warm oatmeal, or toast, or fry your eggs with it. Ideally, it should be used for all your cooking, baking, and frying as it is the most stable oil to cook with. It is used cup for cup in recipes. Use a little less in cookies or they go flat, and mix it with cold water for pie crusts. Use it to bake bread and in all your recipes. Fry potatoes with it, put it on steamed veggies etc. Use it to replace Vegetable and Canola oil. Vegetable oils (Canola included) are highly processed and unnatural to the body. Natural is always better.

Be aware that many people are scared of fats due to misinformation and don’t eat enough. Low or non fat does not exist in nature and should be avoided. Fat does not make you fat. It’s the carbs! Your body may not be able to handle 3 tablespoons a day. It is best to start with one or two teaspoons a day and work up to three tablespoons. You may notice improved energy, increased immune function, less pain and inflammation, better digestion, and many other benefits. Because fats and oils are damaged by light, heat, and oxygen, they have a limited shelf life. However, the more saturated the fat is, the more stable it is. Coconut oil is 95-99% saturated fat. Because of this it will last years, (3-5 officially, unofficially decades), in food storage. This is also dependent on the moisture content of the oil. Coconutreat Coconut Oil is .01% moisture or less and will therefore last much longer than cheaper coconut oils.

Do not be scared of saturated fats. They are essential for your heart health, brain function, and every cell in your body needs them. Amazing research has been done proving the more coconut oil one consumes, the less risk one has of heart disease. Also, cholesterol ratios improve, illness is decreased, and you have more energy. Alzheimer’s and Memory Loss have also shown great improvement with coconut oil.

Coconut Oil works wonders externally as well. Use as a lotion and makeup remover. Use topically on burns, athlete’s foot or fungus, ringworm, skin growths, sun or liver spots, etc. Use as an ear oil for infections, or as a diaper rash cream. Drop in the eyes for infections like pink eye. Condition the hair by rubbing it in and letting it sit for 20 minutes before showering. It even kills head lice!

Coconut oil is unique as it is the only significant food source of medium chain fatty acids like those found in breast milk. This has the ability to kill most virus, bacteria, and fungus and is where the infant gets its immune system.
